Description

Dom Sebastião Sofa is a piece inspired by one of the most peculiar and controversial legends in Portuguese culture – that of King Dom Sebastião. With his disappearance in the Battle of Alcácer-Quibir, the popular hope that the king would one day return to save Portugal came to life, giving birth to the myth of Sebastianism.

The L shaped design of the sofa symbolizes the path of seeking continuity and the union of the present with the past, with the table placed at the center of the "L" serving as a meeting point between these two dimensions. Just like the legend of Dom Sebastião, where the hope and unity of the people become a living force, the table in the “L” represents a space for connection and contemplation, reinforcing the idea that, despite his absence, hope and memory remain.
