The MARQUEYSSAC pieces designed by ALMA de LUCE® reveals an ancient and memorable topiary art, taken to the highest exponent in the suspended gardens of Marqueyssac, one of the most beautiful achievements in the history of French gardens.
The gardens of Marqueyssac are an undeniable reference for lovers of natural art. Boxwood stands out as a full-fledged fantasy, to the detriment of symmetry and regularity. The conjugation between the different cut out geometric forms, gives it character and presence, distinguishing this garden from all the gardens of the world.
Inspired by romantic and Italian gardens, he spent the next 30 years, until his death in 1893, completely transforming the estate he inherited into a beautiful residence and a utopian garden.
The result is truly astonishing: a giant living architectural sculpture formed from no less than 150,000 individual boxwood plants and accessed by 6 kilometers of meandering pathways.
