ALMA de LUCE® gives us to know one of the most beautiful places in the world through the piece MARIETA. For those who love natural sites, who love marine life and the animal’s sanctuaries, they will love “Hidden Beach”.
It looks like something out of a fantasy novel: a wide, sandy cave with the blue waters of the rushing in. Located in a kind of sunny crater, the beach affectionately nicknamed "Hidden Beach" or "Love Beach" (Playa del Amor) is accessible only when the tide is low.
The Marieta Islands, of which it is part, are a group of uninhabited islands formed by underwater volcano eruptions, located in the west of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, at the mouth of Banderas Bay.
They are natural wonders, but it was not the volcanic activity that produced the beach cut to light.
There are rumors that the hole that created "Hidden Beach" was the result of intentional bombings. Completely uninhabited, they were the ideal place for military tests of the Mexican government. It was from the early 1900s that weapons and artillery were tested on the Marieta Islands, at a safe distance from Mexican citizens, but not so safe for Marieta's topography. Test bombs were the known cause of many caves and rock formations on the island, possibly including the "Hidden Beach".
