Tile or hydraulic mosaic is a type of handmade coating made with cement, used in floors and walls, which had its heyday between the nineteenth and the twentieth centuries.
It was presented as an alternative to marble or as a “pottery” that did not required cooking.
It rises up in the south of Europe and rapidly spreads itself across Mediterranean countries, becoming popular also in Victorian England and Russia.
The drawings or patterns represented geometric shapes, flowers or leaves.
The most delicate ones used a motive that was repeated and propagated by the pieces in a combination of two, four or six different mosaics, resulting in beautiful patterns or simulating a carpet that covered the whole room.
ALMA DE LUCE presents us the Mosaic mirror of deep color, which tells us this memory in an elegant and contemporary way.
The mirror can be executed in brass or with various dimensions fitting the intended stunning interior.
